INTERESTING NUMBERS A&E figures slump during pandemic

Compared to the previous year, visits by ill children and young people to emergency departments in England fell by 62% from mid-March to mid-May 2020. Visits for injuries fell by 67% in those aged five to 19 in the same timeframe. Severe social distancing and waiting before seeking help may explain the shortfall, said the recent Health Foundation report. It recommended the NHS provide guidance for parents and guardians on when to seek emergency care for children.
