Proud Pauline Wheeler says: “This is my sister

Christine Sharp on the phone to the Duchess of Cornwall.

“She’s just receiving the news that she has won the Duchess of

Cornwall award 2020 for all her charity work on behalf of the Royal Osteoporosis Society.”

Forced to retire from hairdressing after 50 years when her osteoporosis got too much for her to carry on, 78-year-old Christine lives in Keighley, Yorkshire, has since dedicated her life to raising awareness of the debilitating disease.

“My sister began by volunteering for the osteoporosis society and for the last 10 years has spent all her time trying to encourage women over 50 to have bone-density tests,” says Pauline.

“She has spoken in the House of Lords, attends many functions in London and at Clarence House, and has raised a lot of money for the charity.

“I am her younger sister and have lived in Spain for the last 15 years, but I follow every single thing she does. I am so proud of her. Well done, sis!”
