For half an hour of sheer joy, you can look no further than this brilliant blooper reel from the country’s longest-running soap.
Whether it’s Sue Cleaver (Eileen) dropping baked beans down her front or Craig Charles (Lloyd) falling about laughing mid-scene, this two-parter is packed with funny outtakes.
Some of the show’s biggest stars, including Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan), Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Alex Mardell (Emma Brooker), Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) and Jennie McAlpline (Fiz) revisit the scenes that went wrong and talk us through the mayhem.
And it’s Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald, who is the proper cast clown, apparently.
Ben Price, better known as Nick Tilsley, admits he makes him laugh so much that he pushes a cocktail stick into his hand to stop him cracking up and ruining a scene.
There are problems with doors, crew members accidentally wandering into shot, misbehaving props, scenery crashing down, malfunctions of a wardrobe variety, on-set pranks and many, many fluffed lines.
Total failure has never been so fun to watch.
