NO GOOD NIGHT IN VIENNA FOR JAMIE

-

JAMIE MURRAY and Neal Skupski crashed in straight sets in the men’s doubles final at the Vienna Open.

Murray (above) and partner Skupski lost 7-6 7-5 to Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo, who sealed their third Vienna title.

Murray and Skupski are seventh in the race for the ATP Finals in London later this month – with eight to qualify – as they chase a first appearance together there.

In-form Russian Andrey Rublev booked his place in the London finals for the first time by winning in Vienna.

The world No.8 beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego, who had ousted Novak Djokovic and Brit Dan Evans, 6-4 6-4. It was a fifth ATP title of 2020 for Rublev, who’s won 19 of his past 20 matches.
