AGAR LOVES BRAD NEWS FOR RHINOS

- BY GARETH WALKER

RICHARD AGAR hailed his marathon men after Brad Dwyer’s late try kept the Rhinos’ top-four hopes alive.

Hooker Dwyer has played in all of Leeds’ four matches in 10 days following their Challenge Cup triumph.

Agar’s side is still aiming to make the playoffs on merit with a decision due this week over whether to expand them beyond four clubs.

And they twice came from behind against a Trinity team that had beaten them comfortably on Thursday night.

Agar said: “We’ve had a very, very tough runs in terms of the demands on us – training yesterday was more like a roll call of who could and couldn’t play. We ran hard, tackled hard, tried our backsides off and got a narrow win.”

Stand-in skipper Ash Handley scored two tries and created another for Liam Sutcliffe to send the Rhinos in 14-12 at halftime.

Lee Kershaw and Joe Westerman had crossed for Trinity, who then moved ahead after the restart through Innes Senior before Dwyer’s late winner.

Wakefield coach Chris Chester said: “We threw it away. The frustrating part is we didn’t really make them work hard for any of their tries.”
