WOODY: I HATE LACK OF FANS.. IT’S HORRIBLE
FREDDIE WOODMAN loves life at Swansea – but loathes playing without fans.
The Swans keeper, who opted for a second season in Wales on loan from Newcastle, admits he has even given up watching games on TV.
Woodman was singleminded, sharp and reliable, as he kept a second successive clean sheet to block out Blackburn, the Championship’s top scorers.
But about the lack of fans, he said: “I have got used to it, but I won’t lie – I hate it. There have been so many games when the matches would have been so different with fans.
“You can’t lie, it’s horrible to watch and I don’t like watching football now. It’s just not the same without fans. I can’t wait until the fans come back.”
The Swans won with headed goals from Ben Cabango and Andre Ayew (above) in either half.
Woodman added: “We won ugly, I guess, and that’s what you have to do sometimes in the Championship.”
Rovers have lost four out of their last five games, and manager Tony Mowbray is still to beat the Swans in seven games as a boss.
He said: “I don’t think we have conceded from a corner with a direct header like that for about two years.
“Now, it’s about dusting ourselves off and getting ready for two home games, so let’s get six points.”
