MY AMAZING ARTWORK
This fabulously vivid picture of a bird of paradise, polar bear and tiger by Ann Easthope was painted for an open exhibition on climate change. It also became the inspiration for the amateur artist’s children’s book, Beyond the Rainbow.
Ann, 77, from Wellington, Telford, says: “I have drawn and painted ever since I can remember, but I have never written anything until now.
“The animals and bird in the painting conjured up a children’s story in my mind, and they were then joined by a leopard, koala bear and mountain lookout dog on a mission to save our planet’s natural treasures.
“I spent most of the last lockdown painting the illustrations for the book. Like most people, I found the conditions very scary, but being able to paint in my own bubble was a great comfort to me.
“I later found a local printer to publish my book, and it has given me great joy to be able to bring my story to life and to share it with others – both children and adults.”
