Billy Elliot star suing Met for ‘ankle stamp’
CLAIM Dancer Alex Loxton
A BALLET dancer suing police for £50,000 claims a PC stamped on his ankle in a stop-and-search that had “no reasonable basis”.
Alex Loxton, 32, who starred as Billy Elliot in the West End, says the injury has stalled his career.
Officers stepped in as he turned to leave after seeing if his stolen scooter was behind Kennington Police Station in South London, according to court filings.
Mr Loxton, of Brixton, claims he also received knee and forearm strikes.
The Met Police deny assault, saying there were no stamps or strikes.
Met lawyer Russell Fortt said Mr Loxton was restrained after he acted aggressively, adding the police response was justified and used “reasonable force”. A trial date has not been set. ‘UNTOUCHABLE’ Harrod
