3D printers ‘harm lungs’
3D printers are toxic, especially to children, as their particle emissions damage the lungs, say US scientists.
The devices release by-products which harm cells in the body, a study by the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health found.
Other research by the US Environmental Protection Agency showed kids aged nine and under are at higher risk of this damage.
The global 3D printing market was worth an estimated £8billion in 2019.
