Wenger: Respect Reds, Pog

- BY JEREMY CROSS

ARSENE WENGER has hit out at Paul Pogba and told him to show Manchester United more respect.

Pogba is at loggerheads with United after his agent Mino Raiola revealed last week the French superstar would leave Old Trafford the first chance he got.

Raiola insists Pogba will not sign a new contract and claimed his career with United was over.

His comments came on the eve of the club losing at RB Leipzig to crash out of the Champions League.

And now Wenger has told Pogba (above) to knuckle down.

The former Arsenal boss said: “I believe you have to explain to a player that, no matter what his future plan is, his interest and his job is to perform at the present club. It’s the best way to prepare your future, to play well in the present.

“When I saw Pogba coming on at RB Leipzig, I was sorry he didn’t start the game because he made a huge impact.”

Raiola has repeated his claim that Pogba will still leave United.

But he added: “I’ve said that Paul can leave in the summer, it’s hard to do top deals in January.”

United star Alex Telles has revealed he is glad to finally be on the same side as Bruno Fernandes – after admitting his team-mate was “annoying” to play against.

Full-back Telles (below) came up against Fernandes several times in Portugal while he was p playing y g for Benfica and d United’s talisman was at Sporting Lisbon.

Telles said: “Me and nd Bruno have known each other for a while. He always stood out wherever he played and he’s our main player here.

“When we were rivals on the pitch, he was quite annoying to play against – always wanting to win.

“It’s a source of pride and an honour to have someone like this in the team, someone that can help and motivate us.”
