‘Burglar’ butt dialled police

POLICE swooped on two suspected burglars after one sat on his phone and accidentally dialled 999.

Chief Insp John Owen, from Staffordshire Police, tweeted: “We received a call detailing all of their antics up to the point of hearing our patrols arrive and arrest them.”

A force spokesman said the men, aged 49 and 42, both from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of burglary in Middleport, Staffs, on Wednesday and remain in police custody.
