Kind plumber splashes out £57k in help

- BY JOE PAGNELLI

A BIG-HEARTED plumber has spent £57,000 helping people hit by the virus.

James Anderson, 53, set up the Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response to stop rogue workers scamming the needy.

Since 2017, he and his team have fixed 10,000 heating and plumbing systems free of charge.

But since Covid he has branched into food parcels, PPE, and even paying bills for families in need.

The dad- of- six, from Bolton, said he’s spent £ 57,000 during the pandemic alone but added it was “worth every penny”.

James, who is seeking extra support through a crowdfunding campaign, said: “We won’t ever walk away. If you need help, we’re here.”
