“I really love making tapestries,” says 76-year-old John Sandall about his mindful and creative sewing hobby.

“I have completed over 11 pieces of work which hang on the lounge wall of my lovely park home in Ffynnongroyw, North Wales.

“I’m very proud of one I did for a local disabled school which was raffled and fetched £130!”

This snowy scene of Alan Watson’s back garden in Hednesford, Staffs, makes me long for a bit of the white stuff. We’re freezing down here in the south but sadly only two snowflakes are expected today.

The 62-year-old said, “During our recent winter weather I felt inspired to paint this scene of my back garden. Snow brings a magical feel all of its own to the landscape. “Nature is showing us its beauty for us to appreciate in these very difficult times.”
