Pause for applause

-

I am so glad the clapping and cheering for the NHS has returned in this lockdown. The Clap For Heroes not only enables us to show our support for the NHS, but also the shop assistants, posties, dustmen and, indeed, all those who continue to support us through this troubling time.

It also gives us the feeling of being in it together. Plus, I shall be keeping my Christmas lights on outside well into February to cheer us up.

Whatever your political allegiance you’d have to have some sympathy with any prime minister in charge during this pandemic.

However, Boris Johnson is now using the new Covid variant as an excuse to cover up his Government’s mishandling of the virus.

Personally, I think people would have more respect and sympathy for the man if he would hold his hands up and admit that mistakes have been made and he will learn from them.
