FOXES REST FROM HUNT
Leicester
LEICESTER CITY will take their two biggest stars out of the heat of FA Cup battle at Stoke City tomorrow.
Jamie Vardy (left) and James Maddison will both be rested so they can address ongoing injury problems that they have had to play on with. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers feels the Cup game is the ideal opportunity to give his two big hitters a chance of some respite from the gruelling schedule.
Top scorer Vardy has been coping with a hip injury while England midfielder Maddison has been nursing a knee problem.
Rodgers (right) said: “Both of them at 80 per cent are still big players for us but there’s an opportunity here to do some work with them. Jamie has had an issue around his hip and groin which has certain periods when it gets worse and James has had ongoing issues.
“This is a chance for some rest and recovery. Neither has trained this week and this is an opportunity to let them be ready after the weekend.
“They haven’t really had an opportunity to have the necessary recovery period for things to settle down.”
