semi-finals of the competition in 2019. He has recalled Patrick Cutrone and Morgan Gibbs-White from loans at Fiorentina and Swansea respectively.

Italian striker Cutrone, 23, signed from AC Milan for £16million in July 2019, flew in yesterday. He has not played since before Christmas but may tonight if he gets international clearance as Raul Jimenez and Daniel Podence are out.

Nuno loaned Cutrone (right, scoring against West Ham a year ago) back to Italy after just six months. “Patrick and Morgan are our players from inside the club and I think we should always try to progress our own,” said Nuno.

“Everybody, every day has a fresh start. It’s a new beginning, for Patrick also.

“It didn’t work out before for numerous reasons.

“But there was never an issue, he integrated well with the squad, he was a good boy, so let’s work together.” Nuno also confirmed John Ruddy will be in goal and Adama Traore will start in attack.

Traore is yet to replicate his best form from last season but looked more dangerous in last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Brighton.
