Nightlife struggle probed
MPS and peers are to investigate the impact of Covid-19 on nightlife following 10 months of social restrictions.
The hospitality industry has been the hardest hit sector, accounting for a third of the 800,000 job losses, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The inquiry into the impact of the virus on nightlife is being led by the newly formed All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Night Time Economy.
Labour MP Jeff Smith, group chairman, said: “Nightlife businesses have been overlooked by the Government and we are determined that the challenges facing the sector are addressed.”
