Office shamed

PLAYING his political self rather than acting, Arnold Schwarzenegger speaks for America in denouncing as the “worst President ever” a Donald Trump who shamed his office and the country.

Comparing the deadly storming of the US Capitol by a mob Trump incited with Hitler’s Blackshirts’ “Night of Broken Glass” murderous rampage against Jews in 1938 Nazi Germany could be seen as controversial and invites criticism of Schwarzenegger’s rhetoric.

Yet the cry from heart expresses the horror of so many Americans, including Trump apologists, at the outgoing leader’s determination to trash democracy. Some fear impeaching Trump might martyr him. Thankfully he will be gone in nine days as Joe Biden takes over.
