UK ‘must fight for place at global table’
THE UK will have to “fight its way to the table” as Joe Biden seeks to rebuild America’s global relations, a study says.
With MPs to debate foreign policy today, Robin Niblett, director of think tank Chatham House, says the EU – not “Brexit Britain” – will be the US’s “main counterpart in areas like China relations and digital taxation”.
He suggests three areas the UK can tackle as a global broker – climate change, its strong position in Nato and its G7 presidency. He said: “A positive global image of Britain outside the EU must be earned, not declared.”
