A MAN who plunged into a frozen lake to save a dog has warned others not to do the same thing.

Darcy Bell, 31, was out for a run when he saw the stricken pet struggling. He leapt in and pushed the small black dog to the side, so it BRAVE Athlete Darcy Bell could get out, and resumed his run in Pontefract, West Yorks. But Darcy added: “It’s not something you should do unless you’re used to cold water. It can induce cold water shock, which can be fatal. Cold water swimming is something I’m used to as an athlete.”
