Slow-cooking penne a thing of the pasta..
FROZEN fresh pasta that can be ready in just 30 seconds is going on sale in the UK for the first time.
The quick-cooking pasta has been used by restaurants for years but has never been available to cook at home.
But now Waitrose is introducing a new range it hopes will prove a godsend for cooks nationwide.
British firm Beroni said panic buying during the first lockdown showed the popularity of pasta.
Brand director Patrick Finlay said: “People pay for convenience.”
The pasta, which hits shelves today, is cooked al dente, cooled down and immediately frozen.
It is cooked by boiling in 30 seconds, microwaved for 2.5 minutes or panfried in three minutes.
