Ruff shows from Auntie

-

What’s got into the BBC with its sudden poor taste in programmes involving dogs? Just as I was incensed to read about their show on how to make cash from selling puppies – and signed a petition to stop it being aired – I then see the item about dogs having their fur dyed in the programme Pooch Perfect (Mirror, January 7).

Apart from the risk of encouraging certain people to use any type of dye on their pets, it shows complete disrespect for dogs who give unconditional love to their owners.

Humans have a choice of dying their hair any colour they want to, but dogs certainly don’t. The BBC should be ashamed of airing such a programme.

The reason the Nightingale hospitals remain mostly unused is because the NHS doesn’t have enough nurses to run them.

Why is that? Oh, yes, the Tories actively starved the NHS of funds for decades so they could eventually sell it to their cronies in the US.

Having worked in the NHS as a nurse for more than 30 years, I can assure you it was the Tories who left this fantastic institution continually short-staffed and in a constant state of crisis-management.
