I still love Ioan but I don’t think he’ll come back to us
Actress Alice left heartbroken
ACTRESS Alice Evans has updated fans on her marital woes by admitting she still loves husband Ioan Gruffudd but adding: “I don’t see him coming back to us.”
Alice, 49, last week revealed the couple were breaking up and accused the Welsh star, 47, of “mentally torturing” and “gaslighting” her.
Yesterday she shared a series of pictures of broken hearts online, including one with the words “game over”.
She wrote she was fighting against Gruffudd’s plans and detailed the “excruciating pain” caused by the breakdown of their 20-year relationship.
Gruffudd is best known to TV viewers as surgeon Andrew Earlham in ITV drama Liar. Alice, mum of their kids Ella, 11, and Elsie, seven, revealed last week he had told her he was leaving after 13 years of marriage.
The pair have been having heart-toheart talks and Gruffudd had been seen wearing his wedding ring.
But Alice said in the new post: “I never thought this would happen to us...
“I am still fighting against it, because I love our kids and I still love him, but something has happened inside his head and whatever it is, I don’t see him coming back to us. The pain is excruciating but I am stronger than an ox.”
The Vampire Diaries star is trying to make plans for herself, her daughters, and their beloved dog Emma.
She added: “Though I weep all day when my kids aren’t looking, at night I add up figures and plan futures for us and you know what? I will do those two angels right if it’s all I ever do!
“And Emma, of course, if she PROMISES to stop jumping everybody!”
Alice’s original tweet about the end of her marriage was deleted hours later and she then claimed Gruffudd was the person responsible for removing the post.
She wrote: “Hi there. I didn’t delete the tweet from a few hours ago about him leaving. He did. From my account...
“And when I am being gaslit and mentally tortured then hell yes I will wash my linen in public.”
Gruffudd has admitted they are going through a “difficult time”.
He recently returned from Australia, where he was shooting season three of TV drama Harrow with Ella Newton, 30, and Anna Lise Phillips, 46. There is no suggestion he has been unfaithful.
