STEVEN GERRARD laid into his players after RANGERS were held to a 1-1 draw at bottom club HAMILTON.

The league leaders were seconds away from taking all the points after Brian Easton’s 80th-minute own goal, but Ross Callachan equalised four minutes into added time yesterday.

Gerrard (above) made it clear he felt a draw was the least the Accies deserved, having constantly been denied by Rangers keeper Allan McGregor (below).

He said: “I should be happy to take a point from this game because we didn’t deserve anything. My players have been brilliant all season but I’ve no praise for them today.

“The only reason we took the lead was because of our goalkeeper. When we scored we thought we’d got away with one, we weren’t at the races and I’ve a lot to look through in that game. I’ve got to look at myself too in terms of decisions

I’ve made.”

Rangers are 21 points ahead of Celtic in second and Gerrard added: “We’re still in a fantastic place but we need to learn from this.”

Hamilton are three points behind Ross County and boss Brian Rice said: “I’m proud, not just of the result but the manner we played and the bravery we showed. The never-say-die attitude, it’s what we’re going to need to the end of the season.”

CELTIC, who have two games in hand, beat MOTHERWELL 2-1 on Saturday.
