JINXED FEKI IS OUT AGAIN
CASTLEFORD winger Sosaia Feki has suffered another devastating injury blow as his horrendous luck in England continues.
The former Cronulla Sharks player hoped to have a major impact this year having been restricted to just 24 minutes action last season.
But the Tigers confirmed he ruptured his Achilles in training, ruling him out for the majority of the campaign. The Tonga international (below) barely missed a match through injury in seven seasons in the NRL but Feki, 29, sustained a calf injury in a friendly against Toronto last year and also had hamstring issues.
When he finally made his debut in September against Hull FC in the Challenge Cup, knee trouble forced him off within 30 minutes.
CALLUM JOHNSON says winning a world title will help his late father rest in peace.
The British lightheavyweight has penned a deal with promoter Frank Warren as he plots his path to a title.
Johnson (above), 35, signed the contract a day after the fifth anniversary of his father Paul’s death. His dad once trained him and they had mapped out his career.
The Lincolnshire fighter won a Commonwealth Games gold medal as an amateur before winning professional British and Commonwealth lightheavyweight titles.
He fell short for the IBF world belt in 2018 against Artur Beterbiev but is hoping his tie-up with Warren can give him another shot.
“If I get that world title I will finally be able to live in peace and my dad will finally be able to rest in peace,” said Johnson, who has been without a fight for almost two years.
He added: “My dad and I set out goals and we managed to achieve all of them except winning a world title as a pro.”
