SHERIDAN Smith has revealed why she was inspired to name her son after Sir Billy Connolly.
The actress said the name had “always been in my head” after the Big Yin, 78, looked out for her on the set of 2012 movie, The Quartet.
Sheridan, 39, who gave birth last May, said: “Billy took me under his wing.
“He’s such a workingclass hero and he was always making me laugh.
“At the premiere, I turned up in this tiny dress. He’s got his coat round me, saying, ‘Cover up from the paparazzi’.”
Speaking to Rob Brydon on his Brydon & podcast, Sheridan added: “There was all kinds of stars there and he just talked to my dad about music all night.
“What a gent. He has no airs and graces.”
