M&S is suing Aldi over a party treat but the real issue is, which tastes best?

A FOOD fight is brewing in the supermarke­t cake aisles...

In the Marks and Spencer corner, Colin the Caterpilla­r is taking on Aldi’s Cuthbert the Caterpilla­r, calling him a copy cake.

Colin has 15 million sales under his belt since his launch 30 years ago but rival caterpilla­rs in other stores are contesting his crown. M&S’s trademark infringeme­nt claim against Aldi goes on but we staged the only contest that matters: taste.

Mum-of-four Ruth Dascombe, 48, from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, and her 10-year-old twins Rufus and Cressida tried the other caterpilla­r cake contenders for us.
