She’s certainly not the first Samantha to be Bewitched. And she probably can’t do that twitchy thing with her nose.
But Emmerdale’s Samantha Giles, aka Bernice Blackstock, can talk about magic till the cows come home...
For she may have left the Dales in 2019, but this is one soap star who doesn’t fear a dry spell.
Or any spells in fact. Instead Sam has set up a new online business selling potions, such as her £16.99 Phoenix “cleansing” spell and £14.99 love concoction.
First up, I’d like to say Sam was absolutely brilliant, fantastic and wonderful in Emmerdale.
(So please, don’t curse me!) And secondly, how handy would it be to have a real life Wanda/ Hermione Granger/Glinda the Good Witch in soapland?
EastEnders’ epic 24-month Who Killed Lucy Beale? storyline could’ve been resolved in one ep... with a handy truth spell. Corrie’s Yasmeen could have shown abuser Geoff Metcalfe what it’s like to be belittled (literally) with a shrinking charm.
And hapless Ian Beale could use a glamour spell to trick the Walford ladies into thinking he’s a ringer for Brad Pitt.
Oh hang on... After Cindy, Mel, Sharon, Denise and Jane, perhaps he’s using one already.
