Last letter of Titanic hero

-

A LETTER written by a heroic passenger on the Titanic is set to raise £20,000 at auction today.

Henry Cotterill wrote to his mother that the liner was a “floating town” with “everything shining like silver”. Henry, 21, posted it from Queenstown, Ireland.

Days later, on April 14 1912, Titanic hit an iceberg.

Henry and two pals, all from Penzance, Cornwall, helped women and children into lifeboats before standing back. They were among 1,512 who died.
