Prince Philip, A Love Story
By Dawn Hough
Forget for a moment The work he has done And think of the woman Whose love he had won
More than seven decades There for each other Not only a consort, A husband and lover
Sometimes apart But always there A father of four Who’d nurture and care
Two steps behind her In all public life
But right there beside her As man and wife
For the country worked endless And played his part
All for the woman
Who had stole his heart
Now without her prince Our Queen’s saddest test Her most difficult time As he’s laid to rest.
