GARDENER’S DIARY

-

Your weekly gardening to-do list

In mild conditions, apply a spring/summer lawn feed to grass, or use a slow-release feed that supplies nutrients all summer. If it’s still cold and wet where you are, hold back for a few weeks.

Pinch out the growing tips of young pelargonium and fuchsias to help produce stronger, bushy plants that will be covered with flowers later in the year. Sow frost-tender veggie seeds in pots on a windowsill indoors. You’ll have strong young plants ready to go outside after the last frost in mid to late

May.
