Monaco turning on the electric
THE iconic Formula One Monaco circuit will be graced by electric cars next month when Formula E comes to town.
The all-electric series has the go-ahead to use the Principality’s full F1 circuit for the first time ever on May 8, two weeks before the annual Monaco Grand Prix.
Neon lights will be installed on the cars to help illuminate them as they travel through the famous tunnel section. Only a handful of racing series outside of F1 have been allowed to use the full Monaco street circuit.
FE co-founder Alberto Longo (above) said: “In many ways, this circuit is made for Formula E, it’s a fast and narrow street circuit which will see plenty of opportunities for overtaking.
“It will also test drivers’ energy management with sharp inclines and highspeed sections.”
