SIX FROM SEVEN COULD PUT BAMFORD ON PLANE TO EUROS

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

PATRICK BAMFORD has been backed to keep banging in the goals for Leeds – and earn a place in England’s Euros squad.

Bamford has netted 14 times in the Premier League this season and narrowly missed out on a Three Lions call-up last time.

Gareth Southgate says the Leeds striker is on his radar and team-mate Luke Ayling believes he can force his way into his party for the Euros.

“Everyone knows he got a lot of stick in the past. A lot of managers thought he wasn’t good enough – the silver spoon and all that malarkey,” said Ayling.

“But he’s come out this year and from minute one he’s worked hard and scored goals.

“He’s got seven games to get on that plane for the Euros, which most of us think he should be on.

“He’s got seven games now to score as many goals as he can.”

Bamford (right) himself refuses to give up on his England dream and is targeting 20 Premier League goals with Leeds.

“I’m still trying to hit 20,” he said. “I know that’s a lot – six in our remaining seven games – but to hit 20 goals in the league, whether I do it or not, that has to be the aim.”
