Singer and ex-fiance close again after 17yrs
JENNIFER Lopez and Ben Affleck have spent a romantic weekend away, fuelling rumours the former A-list couple are back together.
Weeks after JLo broke off her engagement to baseball legend Alex Rodriguez, she was pictured with the actor after visiting the Yellowstone Club – a luxury ski resort in Big Sky, Montana, where Affleck is understood to own a chalet.
Yesterday it was claimed he “started flooding her with emails while she was filming in the Dominican Republic” in February – months before she split from Rodriguez. According to US gossip site TMZ “the tone of the emails wasn’t just friendly but more loving and longing for Jen.” J Lo is said to “love” his notes, describing the actor as being able to “own her heart” with his pen.
Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, were pictured arriving back in LA looking relaxed around one another as they sat side-by-side in an SUV, with the Good Will Hunting star in the driver’s seat.
They touched down in California in a private plane following their trip for which they had taken “a considerable amount of luggage”. Last month, Affleck was seen arriving at Lopez’s home in a white Escalade SUV that is said to belong to the Hustlers star. He was later seen being dropped off by her security. A source told respected People magazine: “[ Jennifer] spent several days with Ben out of town. They have a strong connection.
“It’s all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy. She had a great time with Ben. She is happy with him and enjoys spending time with him.” Lopez and Affleck were engaged in 2002 and made headlines as “Bennifer” during their years together, even co-starring in the films Jersey Girl and Gigli. They postponed their 2003 wedding days before they were set to walk down the aisle, then officially split early in 2004.
Prior to being pictured together, they both attended and participated in VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World event, along with Prince Harry.
Lopez split with Rodriguez only last month having been together since 2017.
In a joint statement, they said: “We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”
Last week it emerged Affleck had been an active user on the celebrity dating app Raya. Previously he was married to actress Jennifer Garner, who he remains close to. They had children, Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, nine.
