Killer Dennehy plans to wed as fiancee is freed
Pair met in jail and ‘fully intend’ to tie knot
SERIAL killer Joanna Dennehy is a step closer to tying the knot later this year after her fiancee was released from prison.
Street robber Hayley Palmer has finished her 16-year sentence and friends say she is already taking legal advice on arranging the wedding – despite Dennehy serving a whole life tariff for murdering three men.
Palmer is said to have changed her name to Dennehy and a pal said: “It’s a very strange relationship. It’s very weird to say but they seem good for each other.
“Hayley speaks about Joanna like she’s her high school sweetheart. They talk every single day and fully intend to get married. Hayley joked that they would not be allowed to cut their wedding cake because there’s no way that they’d let Joanna have a knife.
“They want to be married by the end of the year. They’re both committed to it. Now Hayley’s out of prison, she’s petitioning for permission to get married as soon as they can.”
Dennehy is one of only two women serving a whole life tariff – the other is Rose West. Dennehy murdered Kevin Lee,
48, Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, and John Chapman, 56, in a fortnight. Their bodies were found dumped in ditches near Peterborough in 2013. While on the run from police she posed with a huge knife and tried to kill two other men. The unrepentant serial killer met Palmer in HMP Bronzefield, Surrey. The couple, both 38, were once involved in a failed suicide pact. Our source added: “According to Hayley, the only reason Joanna hasn’t killed anyone in prison so far is because she wouldn’t let her. They have an agreement that Joanna couldn’t attack anybody else while she is in a relationship with Hayley. She hasn’t got in trouble in prison while dating Hayley and Hayley is more stable than ever.” After falling in love the pair had to move to different jails. Palmer was released from HMP East Sutton Park in Kent on April 30 and is now in a London bail hostel. She is in talks with solicitors to marry at HMP Low Newton in Durham and is said to be keen for her family to get to know Joanna. The source added: “Hayley is looking to get human rights people involved as Joanna isn’t allowed visitation. Joanna is the more girly one so Hayley would not wear a dress for the wedding, she’d probably wear a suit.”
