Police scour peak for lost British hiker
A SPECIALIST search for missing British hiker Esther Dingley has resumed in the Pyrenees after winter snow thawed.
Police combed the 8,796ft Pico Salvaguardia summit, from where the Oxford graduate last contacted partner Dan Colegate on November 22.
Sergeant Jorge Lopez Ramos said: “We haven’t found any clues that help us get closer to finding her.”
He said they would have to wait for snow to melt before they could search the north face of the peak.
Officers will be supported by a helicopter based in Benasque, where Esther had been staying.
A Spanish court probe, opened after the Durhamborn 37-year-old went missing, remains open.
