4 polar bears chilling out in wildlife park

- BY AMBER O’CONNOR

ENGLAND now has the largest polar bear centre in the world outside Canada, after three cubs and their mother arrived.

They join four males already living at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

The 18-month-olds are triplets – rare for polar bears – boys Indiana and Yuma and sister Tala. Their mother is Flocke, 12.

Dr Charlotte Macdonald, animal director at the park, near Doncaster, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new polar bears, especially a complete family.”

They moved from their previous home at Marineland, France, as part of a European endangered species programme.

Visitors will be able to see them later this week after their quarantine.
