My new wine is a corker, says Norton
CHAT show host Graham Norton has launched this year’s vintage of his own white wine – on a gigantic TV screen in New Zealand.
The telly star had seven sample bottles of the sauvignon blanc shipped to him in the UK before being beamed on to a 40m high screen in the 50,000seat Eden Park, Auckland.
The 58-year-old has been collaborating with New Zealand wine brand Invivo since 2014 and for their latest stunt the wine was blended on the stadium’s pitch before his eyes.
He said of the 2021 vintage: “It’s a classic New Zealand sauvignon blanc, it’s a grown-up wine and it’s elegant and delicious.
“I’m amazed and proud of it. I don’t just put my name to the wines... I love being part of the process.”
