Angel of the South appeal

AN appeal has been launched to save the Angel of the South after its head and arms fell off.

Some £100,000 has been spent repairing the 40ft Willow Man, installed 20 years ago next to the M5 near Bridgwater, Somerset.

But the local council has said it can no longer afford it. Now the artist who created the structure is calling for help finding a more long-term fix.

Serena de la Hey said: “There’s no quick fix but there’s always hope.”
