EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE

-

Shout out to the incredible musician and marathon runner Charles Costa (aka King Charles) who we bumped into at the bar in the Greenmead Hotel in Brampton, Cumbria.

The crazy dude is singing the length of Britain as he runs 40 marathons in 40 days from John O’Groats to Land’s End with support runner Andy Smith – who is sensibly doing half marathons – and their mildly-amused sherpa Zak. I was very impressed by their training regime, which seemed to be mainly chuffing on ciggies and knocking back pints of Guinness with whisky chasers.

The Feel Good Jog (must be all that booze) has raised £40,000 so far for their local mental health youth charity, Regenerate London.

They asked extreme marathon runner and comic Eddie Izzard to give them some advice. He told them: “The first 10 are horrible, and after that, the rest are… less horrible.”

You might see the boys on your local TV news as they pass through, and you can support their amazing feat atjustgiving.com/ campaign/TheFeelGoodJog.
