ROBINS PUTS WAG ON SPOT
Blackpool Coventry 7.45pm
MARK ROBINS has taken Viktor Gyokeres off penalties and handed them over to Coventry new boy Martyn Waghorn.
The Sky Blues return to action tonight after losing 1-0 at Barnsley on Saturday – where Gyokeres had a tame stoppage-time spot-kick saved. Manager Robins admitted: “I did not get involved. I thought somebody would come out of the pack that wanted it. But if you get that opportunity you’ve got to take it and stick it in the back of the net.”
And Robins added that forward Waghorn (above), a summer signing from Derby, would now be on the spot. He said: “If Waghorn is on the pitch, he’ll take the next one. Viktor didn’t connect with it properly, but he wants to score and I can’t knock him. He wants to be brave.”
