FRY’S WARNING OVER DEMBELE
Cardiff 7.45pm
BARRY FRY reckons it would be “footballing suicide” to sell his Peterborough man of the moment Siriki Dembele.
The 24-year-old (below) scored a last-gasp winner to give Posh a 2-1 victory over Derby on Saturday.
He is out of contract at the end of the campaign and can leave for nothing then. But ahead of tonight’s home clash with Cardiff, director of football Fry said: “The last week of a transfer window is always the most dangerous time.
“Clubs will probably start panicking if the season hasn’t started well and they will be looking to strengthen.
“If we sell Siriki it would be footballing suicide as we would have no time to get a replacement. He is the finished article. We have a much better chance of staying up with him than without him.”
