EMMERDALE’S

Soap’s wild child talks co-stars, albums & Killing Eve

AS the most troubled member of Emmerdale’s Dingle family, starlet Isobel Steele has found herself at the centre of the soap’s biggest storylines.

But lately it’s been her life off screen that’s raised eyebrows – after reports that she was cuddling up to her on/off screen boyfriend in real life.

Such suggestions were sparked by pictures of them hanging out after the last lockdown lifted.

So could Isobel and Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny, be Emmerdale’s answer to Neighbours’ Scott and Charlene aka Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, and be dating off screen too? Not that she is letting on.

She is however having fun playing Liv Flaherty alongside Bradley’s Vinny.

The characters decided to split this week, as Liv explores her asexuality. But Isobel reckons it won’t be long before the match is firmly on again.

She would love them to be a power couple for years, on screen at least.

Isobel says: “Bradley’s great. We get on really well and he’s really great to work with. I find that we both bring good sides out of each other. We bounce off each other.”

While they might not be remixing Especially for You anytime soon, Isobel might be Emmerdale’s answer to

Kylie in another way.

For after five years playing alcoholic epileptic wild child Liv, the actress is starting out on a new career – as a singer-songwriter.

The 20-year-old has written her first album and plans to release it next year.

She says: “It takes a long time to build a collection of music that you’re happy with and build a fan base.

“Piano is my main instrument. And I’ve written a few songs on the guitar recently.

“I play a little bit of bass and drums.”

Isobel, who was raised in Salford, still lives in the family home.

She cites her dad as her biggest musical influence, saying: “He’s so talented and he plays every instrument. I genuinely trust his

opinion over anyone’s. We have the same taste in music and he’s really talented.

“He helps me sometimes with ideas.”

But Emmerdale fans need not fear. Their favourite troubled teen isn’t quitting the Woolpack quite yet.

She says: “I definitely want to explore the music but I have no plans to leave.”

It’s understandable Isobel takes refuge in her music given a packed six episodes a week filming schedule and her character’s heavy storylines. Since arriving in
