Heart calcium score
This is a special kind of CT scan of your heart which creates images of the calcium deposits in your coronary arteries.
The amount of calcium gives a measure of how much plaque (furring up) has accumulated in the vessels supplying your heart muscle. The higher the score, the worse the furring up.
The data from the scan is used to calculate a calcium score. When combined with other health information, your doctor may use it to create a treatment plan for lowering your risk of coronary artery disease.
