Kosgei ready for record race

BRIGID KOSGEI insists she is well prepared and ready to defend her London Marathon title despite the short turnaround from the Olympics.

Sunday’s race comes just eight weeks after the Kenyan (above) claimed marathon silver in Sapporo.

But Kosgei, who aims to become the second person, after Katrin DorreHeinig, to win three women’s London Marathons in a row, insists she is ready.

She said: “My body was very tired but I did a lot of preparation to correct this. My training is going well and I am ready for Sunday.”
