Merc e-car’s 620 miles on one charge
AN electric car has been developed that can travel the length of Britain on one charge.
Mercedes-Benz claims its prototype Vision EQXX can go 620 miles without stopping for a top-up.
That is three times the average range of electric cars and 200 miles more than Tesla’s Model S.
It is hoped its new technology will attract drivers who had feared running out of power before they can get to a charger.
Mercedes said: “Many elements of the vehicle are very close to moving into series production.”
Figures out today are expected to confirm that electric cars accounted for more than a quarter of all UK sales last month.
