Give toddler same foods that you eat
CHILDREN should eat the same food as adults from the age of two to improve their chances of having healthy diets, experts say.
They are said to be far more likely to enjoy vegetables and fruit while young but a long-held belief implies they need other, often processed, food.
However, the difference needs only be the texture and portion size.
Prof Pamela RothpletzPuglia, of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behaviour, said: “It’s a social norm we’ve perpetuated about kids’ food.”
It means parents give in to demands for chicken nuggets, chips and pizzas.
Prof Rothpletz-Puglia, who is based at Rutgers University, New Jersey, and colleagues said such diets can lead to picky eating.
