Hopes for a better year

As we start the New Year, rather than dwell on the ills of 2021, the best we can hope for is to see the back of this pandemic, which has affected almost all aspects of our lives for almost two years.

Let’s hope we can see a return to normality – or as near to it as possible – which would in itself be a vast improvement on last year. Hopefully, the Daily Mirror will bring us more to look forward to in the coming year. Best wishes to my fellow readers. B Davies

What an absolute disgrace the Honours system is which rewards those just for riding a bike or playing a sport they love. Yes, some honours are justified, such as the ones for charitable works, but being given one for what you do for a living is absolutely not.

Having said all that, nothing in this country will change in the near future.
