Millwall will take their own stand
MILLWALL will wear antidiscrimination T-shirts before Saturday’s FA Cup derby with Crystal Palace.
And the Lions will also display a banner publicising their Equality United
For Change campaign to show support for football’s fight against discrimination.
Sections of fans have booed opposition players taking the knee and boss Gary Rowett (left) called on football “to find a better way to unify people” after Fulham players were jeered in August.
The Championship club has worked with the Kick It Out organisation and Palace ahead of the lunchtime kick-off, which is live on ITV. But the home players will stand when Eagles players are expected to take the knee.
Premier League players and staff have been taking a knee prior to kick-off since June 2020.
There is no FA directive on it regarding Cup ties. But a spokesperson said: “We continue to support any players who wish to take a stand.”
