Holiday gang rape teen has name cleared

-

A BRITISH teen convicted of inventing the fact she was gang raped by 12 men on holiday was cleared on appeal yesterday.

The woman, now 21, had been found guilty of public mischief after signing a retraction of her 2019 claim in Ayia Napa.

She had done so without a lawyer and the Supreme Court in Cyprus has now quashed her four-month suspended sentence.

Lewis Power QC, who led the defence said he was delighted she at last had the justice “which had been so cruelly denied”.

Her family said: “It is a great relief,” and called for her original rape claim to now be investigated.
